On Nov. 14 BWH held an international symposium entitled, “Identification and Treatment of High-Risk Coronary Plaque: A Challenge and an Opportunity.” The symposium gathered experts in coronary atherosclerosis from Greece and the United States to discuss existing and new strategies for treating the disease. There were several presentations along with a scientific poster session. The event also honored George D. Behrakis, a significant supporter of the research being conducted to learn about the natural history of coronary atherosclerosis and strategies designed to identify and treat high-risk plaque.
