Linzer Promoted to Associate Chief Nursing Officer

Pamela Linzer, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, has been promoted to associate chief nursing officer for Medicine and the Center for Nursing Excellence, effective April 1. She will also oversee Spiritual Care Services and Interpreter Services.

Linzer joined this summer as executive director for Medicine and the CNE. Moving forward, she will play a key role in leading quality improvement and representing nursing on the Infection Prevention and Harm Reduction domain teams, which are part of our inpatient governance structure. She is also serving as the executive sponsor of our falls and HAPI prevention efforts.

Licurse Appointed Senior Medical Director

Adam Licurse, MD, MHS, executive director of Virtual Care, has accepted a new role as senior medical director in Mass General Brigham Population Health Management (PHM). In this role, he will lead clinical strategy for value-based contracting across PHM and MGB, as well as efforts to optimize the PHM portfolio of clinical activities funded through its value-based contracts. His last day with the Digital team was March 4. He will continue to practice primary care at the Brigham.

Licurse joined the Brigham digital team in 2018 after spending five years as a medical director for the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization. He led the strategic planning resulting in the formation of the BWH Virtual Care team and then served as the team’s inaugural Executive Director starting in 2019.

While the Digital team searches for a new CMIO, Licurse has agreed to be interim CMIO on a part-time basis. Michael Sweet, executive director of clinical systems, Catherine Schroeder, deputy CIO BWH and CIO for BWFH, and Adam Landman, MD, MS, MIS, MHS, will help support Licurse during this transition time.

Patel Departs for Beth Israel Lahey Health System

Raj Patel, MD, MPH, chief medical information officer, has accepted a new role as deputy chief health information officer at Beth Israel Lahey Health System (BILH). In this role, he will work to enhance the BILH electronic health record and contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy. Patel’s last day at the Brigham was March 11.

Patel joined the Brigham team in 2014. He was an attending hospitalist at BWH and BWFH and provided ambulatory services in the BRIDGE clinic. In 2016, Patel joined the Digital team as associate chief medical information officer. He was promoted to chief medical information officer for Inpatient Services the following year.  He has supported clinical systems, including Epic, partnering closely with clinical and operational leaders to solve challenging needs and swiftly respond to safety and compliance issues. He has distinguished himself the past two years, leading much of the COVID digital response across the entire Mass General Brigham enterprise.

Blackmur Departs

After two years as community outreach program manager for the south shore sites, Mary Ann Blackmur has left the Brigham.

Blackmur joined in February 2020 and pitched in to help with anything and everything that was needed in that crisis time. Blackmur helped brainstorm virtual solutions and worked hard to make them a reality. She worked to expand the community’s awareness of Brigham and Harbor Medical Associates on the south shore in many ways, including “Health Highlights” programming on local cable, Public Service Announcements airing not only on local cable but also on Chamber websites, underwriting and program development for the South Shore Conference for Women & the South Shore Chamber’s Women in Local Leadership, COVID-friendly ribbon-cuttings with local business leaders and more.
